We were thrilled to welcome the Hackney Pearly Queen to Side by Side School! The visit tied in perfectly with our SMSC theme this year, where pupils are learning all about London - its people, culture, and landmarks.

The Pearly Queen shared the history of the Pearly tradition and the charitable work behind it, and was very impressed with the children’s enthusiasm and the work they had done in preparation for the visit. Pupils also had the chance to meet their special guest, ask questions, and enjoy some fun photo opportunities.

It was a wonderful, engaging experience that brought London’s heritage to life and gave our pupils a fantastic start to exploring our capital city this year.
