Anti-Bullying Week

For Anti-Bullying Week, Side by Side united with over 5 million other primary school children from around the UK in a nationwide educational campaign teaching the importance of kindness; how even one caring word can break the cycle of bullying. The week kicked off with Odd Sock Day, celebrating individuality and difference amongst the pupil body. We held a range of educational activities for the students, designed to enhance their appreciation of the social setting of school, understand the impact of bullying, learn what to do if they feel worried, and how to ensure that each of our students infuse our school environment with kindness and a focus on helping others. The programmes were also supported through our Speech and Language Team, who have been working with the pupils to expand the different ways - verbally and non-verbally – they can express themselves if they are worried.
