New pet in School!

Early years classes were greeted to a chick which hatched out of its egg this Friday morning!

After carefully monitoring 6 eggs in an incubator for 23 days, the children were thrilled to come to school on Friday morning to see that one of the eggs had hatched!

The excitement grew when the chick was joined by another chick on Monday morning!! Watching the chick's hatch and seeing the chick's grow was a fascinating, real learning experience for the children. Teachers used the opportunity to educate the children on how to handle pets, in a kind and gentle way.
