On the 7th December, 6 boys from the top class went on a bus and train to Westminster. We were invited by Lord Polak to visit Parliament.

The boys were very excited. They had already learnt about the Houses of Commons and Lords but nothing could prepare them for the opulence and grandeur of the actual place.

Lord Polak explained that everything in and leading up to the Commons was green, seats, carpets and even wallpaper and the Lords was red.

He showed us where HM The Queen Mother and George V1 were buried and where the Queen stands to give speeches. He then took us into the House of Lords and showed us where he sits and he showed us the beautiful golden throne which the Queen sits on when she opens parliament. It was a wonderful, special and informative outing!
